Question Remeron (mirtazapine) Disrupting Rem Sleep?

Does anyone know if this is a factor with this drug, or had this happen with something completely different?

I will be bringing this up next Tuesday at my appt, i heard that it can disrupt REM sleep and that is why I wake up feeling crappy, never refreshed. I feel like I can sleep for days on end.

How am I supposed to work feeling like this every morning? I've only woken up 2 times 6 months or less feeling awake.

    Got any ideas?

I think all the antidepressants alter sleep but this shouldnt cause fatigue

if recently started on the med, perhaps your body is still getting used to it, this can take 6 weeks, perhaps reduce the dose for a while

if on it longer, maybe swap to another antidepressant, it can take several tries to find 1 that suits you

I have been takeing Remeron sinse March 2003 and it helps me sleep great yeah some mornings I feel like I could sleep some more but generally I wake up okay little groggy for a half hour or so but after that I feel fine. I also take 20mg of Lexapro in the Morn so that helps me wake up too. LOL Gives me the Kick I need. Caffine is great too.

    45mg of Remeron @ Night
    20mg of Lexapro @ Morning
    My cocktail of choice
    works pretty good

    Hope this Helps

    Peace
