Mum that needs advive..

Hello all peeps .

My daughter on Sunday evening gave me a very frietening experience .

She was getting undress ready for school the following day(she is 13 yers old) And came in to me Deathly white was struggling to Breath lips turned blue, She was not breathing fast like Hyperventing just could not get a breath.

She had dilating pupils pain in her chest and jaw Then started to get pins and needles in her arms then her hands started to twist up and go blue!

I thought she was having a stroke! The reason i thought this, Is my brother died of a n aynurism four years ago with these sort of signs and the hospital and docs did not pick this up. They sent him home with the flu and pulled back muscles, The even gave him an Heart trace and blood test, They said if he were a man of 70's they might of tested him more, but did not do this due to him being only 32 yrs.

The hospital just gave Claire my daughter a trace and sent her home saying she had Hypoventerlated or fainted.

She never lost consiuos or hpoventerlated to my experience?

Can some one give me any help here.

Love pebbles xx

ps. I normaly post on back probs board.

Dear Chrys.
Thank you for such a quick reply and the lovely welcome.

I took claire to my doctors yesterday evening and he said, She has had a panic attack i will reproduce it for you.

So he made claire breath in and out fast, But all that happened was that she felt dizzy in the head, Nothing like what she had sunday evening at all..

So i have asked to be refered to hospital.

Sorry Chrys, But why are you supprised her lips went blue? Sorry for sounding Dumb! but i don't understand what you were getting at.

Hi Pebbles, and welcome

I am so sorry for what you and your daughter went through.

I had a panic attack that caused my lips to turn blue, pins and needles in arms, shallow breathing and I felt I was very near paralyzed. Paramedics came out and checked me over and asked if I had been through any kind of shock or trauma recently. I could hardly talk and very dizzy, but managed to tell them that we had been in a very severe flood and had to be evacuated to safety just three days prior. It was a horrible scare.

I've never had one that bad ever before or after.

Is it possible that your daughter has recently witnessed anything similiar?

Hope to hear from you,
lepi

Dear Lepi.
Hi there and thanks for the welcome.
No claire as not had any Trama or frights, I have asked about school and what ever else i can think of.

She is very close to me and i'm sure she would tell me anything that is bothering her.

Herself and her sister are very out going and cofident kids that are doing well at school, I never push them into anything they do their home work at their leisure.

I am so puzzled by what happenned to her! She had something simular nearly two years ago but her hands did not twist and she did not have chest or jaw pain or pins and needles. She just felt dizzy and her breathing was iratic.

anythings worth considering docs like to look for the simplest common things before they think serious, l hope shes gonna be ok did he test her blood suger levels???

Hi Pebbles

I am so sorry to hear about what happened to you and Claire. I was tending to agree with Chrys in that lack of oxygen produces blue lips. People with Panic Disorders tend to have too much oxygen (because they breath too fast) and not enough carbon dioxide which produces the panic symptoms.
As she said it doesnt mean it WAS NOT a panic attack as Leppi has said her lips when blue during her attack. See how it effects everyone differently, the tingling is a common symptom and I hope knowing that someone else has had it happen to them is reassuring. Still I think you are right to push it and get as much advice as you can.

My daughter is just 10 and for about three months has been showing signs of anxiety at night (for no apparent reason)she wont stay over anywhere anymore and will not stay in her own room. Even when she stays in her brothers room she can still have anxiety. I have an appointment for her for tomorrow as I am also worried about a full blown attack. My heart goes out to you.

By the way did you call an ambulance or did it just pass? what did you do to help?
