Lightbulb Homeopathic remedies and Sertraline ????

    Hi all

I need some advice. I've had panic attacks for a while now, but did not know what they were. They weren't too bad so I just lived with them. I was to fly to Australia to visit family a few weeks ago, when I had a massive panic attack at the airport and just could not get on that plane. Since then, the littlest thing scares me. My heart goes into overdrive when I go to catch the bus!

I tried the homeopathic remedy "aconite" which helped me a little, however, I am going to try the flight back home in a few weeks and my doctor has prescribed sertraline 50mg for 2 weeks, then to move up to 100mg. I have now taken the 50mg dose for 1 week. I tried to get to the doctors for my innoculations for Singapore (spending a few days there) but the panic hit again big time. I need these shots.

My question is can I still take the aconite while I'm taking the sertraline (known as Zoloft, Lustral etc). I've heard that herbs and meds don't mix. I know that the aconite has helped me to calm down before, even if it is only for a short while.

The sertraline has helped me to be less emotional already. Do you think it will help me to be able to get on that flight?

I suggest you wait a while to see how much the antidepressant is going to help you, this varies.
many take herbal meds with antidepressants

do try to get some valium type meds for the flight, they will reduce any panic attack and guarantee your making the flight, a large dose before and more during the flight may be needed, they go well with antidepressants
your doc seems to be antibenzo or he would have given you some, suggest you try another doc, older docs are generally less antibenzo.
