Question winy voice

My 3 year old dd instead of asking me for something in a normal tone of voice always talks in a very annoying winy voice and everything she wants she should get immediately. She likes to repeat it many times with that highly annoying tone of voice.
What should I do?

Re: winy voice

I think you are supposed to tell them that you cannot understand them unless they use a nice voice and ignore them until they ask in a nice voice. My son does that, but he does not respond to my language yet, so it is not working - he is 2.5 and thats a whole other tread . When he is 3 I hope he understands language better and I can do that. The whiny voice drives me nuts!!

Re: winy voice

I've always found that "my ears don't hear or understand the whine" when you talk like a big girl/boy it makes my ears so happy... blah blah blah.Just don't give in to it ,as difficult as it may be.Because it might get to the point that dd will realize that if I whine I'll get .....'cause mom & dad don't want to hear it.Boy they get so smart so fast it's amazing. Good luck!

Re: winy voice

I teach special education kids, and say "I can only hear your BIG girl/boy voice"
& go about my business until THAT is done , , ,
