    Thyroid/Pituitary Issues (Need Advice)

Hi. Greeting's from Alaska. I am having some difficulty right now. Here is the low down. Keep in mind that I have been physically fit my whole life. This is my Primary Care Doc who did this initial study.

CMP - WNL except Alk Phos Slightly Low
CBC - elevated Hgb, mcv, mch, and mchc
    FT4 below reportable range
    TSH - low at 0.31
    RT3 FT3 - Suboptimal ratio
    Methylmalonic Acid - low
    HgbA1c - 0.2: lower relative cardiovascular risk
    Homocysteine - elevated 8.0

Indicate possible hypothyroidism secondary to pituitary dx

Prescribed Medication: Armour Thyroid, Thyrosine Complex, Adrenotone

MRI shows 2.1cm in pituitary region.
Ultra Sound shows 3 nodules on Thyroid, one with blood flow

Eye exam has not happened yet

Neurosurgeon will not call until eye exam is done.

Initial Onset of Symptoms: (that made me call my doc)

Get the eye exam done right away, make sure they do full visual field testing. Your best bet is probably to have the neurosurgeon refer you to an ophthalmologist to do the eye exam. Note that my girlfriend's somewhat from Anchorage and if you're near there she said to go to Provident, NOT Humana. See what the neurosurgeon says. Your Primary Care Doc sounds pretty good but you'll probably want to also see an Endocrinologist.

My issues are different than yours but I was at a good hospital and their neurosurgeon referred me to Stanford for expert analysis. I'm not sure what your financial/ time off means and situation are but from Alaska you may want to look for a referral to Stanford or another top notch hospital for a second opinion, if you're able.

Hope this helps, and I sincerely hope things work out better for you.
