    Am I overreacting?

    Hi
I haven't yet been diagnosed with pcos, but I have got a blood test booked to get checked. I have had all the symptoms. Overweight, Hairs, irregular periods and never really having a pregnancy scare.... even though there has been no protection!

Recently though I've been extra concerned. I've had a 6 week period, then 4 weeks off and now I'm on my 4th week of a period again. I've also had severe pains in my pelvic area. (feels as if its where my ovaries are) Obviously this is something I need checked out but I haven't had much chance at all to actually get anything sorted.... Anyway. I've been extra worried because it seems to have gotten worse and I feel like I'm really overreacting...... Is pcos as serious as I am making it out to be or am i overreacting? This is all very new to me, and unfortunately I don't have any female friends nor "mother" figures to discuss it with.

I'm also unsure about whether it is run in the family or anything and this is another thing that worries me because it isn't something I'd be able to find out easily...

Anyhow. Any advice or opinions would be very appreciated.
