Model Spray Paint Fumes and 6/7 Weeks Pregnant

Hello. Unbeknownst to me, tonight hubby spray painted his model car in the bedroom at his work table. He uses a vent hood to paint in. About three hours after he had finished, I went in to go to bed. The exhaust had come away from the window exit. I would say I was in the room a total of 3-5 minutes between getting ready for bed, trying to re-attach the exhaust tube to the window, and looking to see what he had used and if it toxic. So after leaving the room for the night, I read up on the product he used. It says it is toxic to reproduction. May cause genetic defects. Classified as mutagenic Category 1 if one ingredient is present at or above 0.1%. I am worried those few minutes were harmful to my baby.

Dear cputtre,

While of course, that was not a good thing that happened, I think you and baby are fine. Three to five minutes in a room abt 3 hours later, it is highly unlikely that your baby was affected by the toxins.

Perhaps hubby can set up his model hobby area outside the living area for safety and peace of mind. Just venting is insufficient. Never go into or stay inside a room with known toxins. Let hubby reconnect the vent or better yet stay out of the room if toxins are in the air.

I think you and baby are fine.
