Does the mind make you think you have symptoms?

I was wondering has anyone ever had symptoms of pregnancy that were really bad but turned out to be ok. Im having some but im almost sure i ovulated and i did have my period and it was heavy. I am having some pelvic pain also, ive had it before but never this bad. Is it possible that my mind is making it worse? Also i am due to start my period in a week. Could this be pms?
