    triple screen vs quad screen

    i know this is a dumb question....i sort of understand the triple screen, but what is the difference between that and the quad screen....i know it must be one more test, but what would that be??

    they are both non-diagnostic bloodtests. they measure your risk only. the quadscreen just measures one extra hormone so it is supposed to be more accurate. however they both have a high rate of false positives. i had the quadscreen done and it showed a risk for Downs. i did a couple of extra ultrasounds to monitor the baby, but turned down the amnio. my baby is healthy and beautiful. i was a false positive. good luck.
