Talking Is insomnia a symptom too?

I am just wondering if anyone else had problems sleeping. I'm only 5 weeks pregnant but can't seem to get a good nights sleep, I seem to fall asleep fast enough, but I wake up much earlier than I would like, and can't fall back into a deep sleep which in turn makes me sleepier than I already would be...all day long. I'm going to see if I can just work a half day today so I can go home after lunch and have a nap. I don't remember having this problem with my first pregnancy, I remember being pregnancy tired but I don't recall having problems sleeping at night as well.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Re: Is insomnia a symptom too?

I am having this same problem. I too fall asleep easily, but when I wake up, I can't for the life of me get back into a deep sleep. This is my second pregnancy, I'm 12 weeks, and I don't remember having this trouble with my first. My dr said it's the way the hormones are reacting and it will usually stop after the second trimester. I sure hope so, and I'm almost there. I don't have any good advice for you on how to stay asleep, but just know you are not the only one!

Re: Is insomnia a symptom too?

Yaaaayyy! 10 weeks, time sure flies huh? No, still just sore BBs and tiredness, there was a time or two I though maybe morning sickness was coming but nope. So far so good. I almost wish I had more symptoms so I could know everything was alright. I just saw that other post you posted for me, sorry I didn't see it sooner. I tend to check my subscribed threads and new posts and then log off...I guess I should start checking the boards more. How far along were you when the ms started?

Re: Is insomnia a symptom too?

I went through bouts of insomnia. I am in my 3rd trimester and now I am feeling really tired, but a few weeks ago I couldn't fall a sleep to save my life. GOod [email protected]

Before I miscarried last year, I had a hell of a time getting to sleep. I'd be awake until 2 AM, then sleep until 5 AM and lied there awake until 7 when i had to get up. It was awful.

So for me it was normal.

I've had trouble sleeping since the beginning. I'm in my 13th week now and still the same. DH and the dog snoring doesn't help either!

Yeah. I'm getting that. I just can't get comfortable. Need to go to bed early, then wake up early but haven't slept deeply so need to go back to bed for a nap during the day.

I am in the same boat. I am 11 weeks and its been this way for a while. I fall asleep pretty easy but once i wake up to use the bathroom the frst time, I can't get back to a deep sleep!! IT STINKS cause I am SO tired during the day at work.

Re: Is insomnia a symptom too?

My friend had problems sleeping with her pregnancy, i told her if ever she needed a chat she could call me, the only thing is - she would call at 4am, whilst i was sleeping and had a 12hr shift the next day!

As far as i know its normal. Good luck getting some sleep. (are you allowed to burn oils when your pregnant as lavender may help, i know you cant bath in them)

Take care - sammiep xxx

Glad to see I'm not alone, but man, I need some energy...and sleep! I went home early yesturday, had a 1 1/2 - 2 hr nap, and went to bed only a half hour past my usual time and am so tired today you wouldn't have known I slept at all!
