# of Dr. Visits

When do they usually make you go for visits more frequently? I know go once a month and i am due in October. I know the last month it's once a week but do they ever want to see you bi-weekly in the last tri-mester?

Re: # of Dr. Visits

I think it might depend on what your pregnancy has been like, your age, or your doctor. I am 38 years old and am 34 weeks pregnant. I have been going every other week since 30 weeks. If you are not due until October, it will be while before you go more often than once a month. My appointments are the same as always...pee in a cup, weight, BP, listen to the heart. I think next time I go I get an internal exam. Yippee

For me they started the bi-weekly visits at 28 weeks.

Re: # of Dr. Visits

my biweeklys started at 31 weeks (my schedule got messed up, lol) and were gonna go till 36 weeks, but when he decided to try to come early at 35, i started to go weekly then.
I think it does depend mostly on your dr and your pregnancy

Re: # of Dr. Visits

My doctor starts his biweeklys around Week 30. I'll be 27 weeks at my next regular visit, and that's when we're doing the second round of bloodwork. Based on bloodwork results, he will decide if he wants me to begin every 2 weeks a little early...or wait 4 more weeks (to week 31) before we begin biweekly. Hope that makes sense.

Re: # of Dr. Visits

I've just had my 32 week appointment and the midwife doesn't want to see me again until 36 weeks, so I'm still going monthly. I must admit I was a bit surprised and thought she'd want to see me before that but I think it does depend on your history and how you've been during the pregnancy. I've had a very easy pregnancy with no issues at all (no morning sickness, no indigestion, no cramps, no backpain....lucky me!) so I guess there's no need to see me again until I'm a bit nearer my due date.

I was wondering about that too. When do they check internally instead of just peeing, weight, bp, blah blah blah?
