Question Baby not moving much?..

Hello everyone.

I am almost 19wks pg with my 2nd baby, and have been feeling some movement for about 6wks now. But now that I've gotten further along, and have expected to feel more, I am really hardly feeling the baby even once a day. Is this normal, or should I be concerned? My next appointment is next Wednesday, two days before I turn 20wks, and I will be getting an u/s. I just thought I would get a little insight from some other mothers.

Oh yeah, and once I started feeling my 1st baby move, she never stopped. I suppose this is why I am a little concerned about this 2nd baby.

Thanks so much!

Re: Baby not moving much?..

hotmama13 - If you still feel the baby at least once a day that means the baby is fine. Sometimes I couldn't feel my baby move and I was kind of worried but when I went for my u/s I realised why: my baby was facing my spine instead of facing my belly button and that was the reason - plus my back hurt a lot because of baby kicking it. Also keep in mind that the bones of the baby are still soft and the kicking will get stronger every week as the bones get harder too. If you feel it at least once a day it is good, you will see that even at the u/s. by the way, do you want to find out what it is @ the u/s?

Re: Baby not moving much?..

I really only feel my guy at night when im laying down. I did feel it once today when I was slacking off watching tv but that has been the only time other than at night. Im assuming it will pick up alittle every week that goes buy.

I didn't start getting really consistent movement until about 28 weeks. I freaked myself out a couple of times around 23 weeks & 26 weeks because the baby wasn't moving as much. I suspect the baby had actually turned around and was kicking inward Try not to worry too much. It's early yet!

Thanks for the replies!

Angie22, yes, we are definately finding out what the baby is! And I can't wait!

Thank you all for the relief. I feel much better now. Maybe it is that my baby is pointing inward. I suppose we will find out next wk!
