Re: Aching hips????? Anyone???

mine did this, more so with my second child.
my doctor said it was just the weight of the baby and my changing body. your pelvis moves getting ready for the birthing process.

Yup, it's just the pressure of the baby combined with the pressure of sleeping on your sides, combined with the fact that your hips are spreading to prepare for childbirth. I asked my doc about the same thing, and there's not much you can do, except switch sides when you wake up. I sleep with a body pillow that I stuff under my belly and then curve between my legs, that helps a little, and sometimes Tylenol helps as well. Other than that....just another one of those joys of pregnancy.

YES! YES! YES! I was just thinking how I have to post this same question. I get so uncomfortable at times too. Since I can't sleep on my back, I often take 3 pillows and prop them up against my bed and sleep sitting slightly upright. This helps a bit - and then I go back down to my sides during the night. It is like this all night for me - up and down.

I don't know if there is anything else that can help relieve this pressure.

That happened to me throughout the last half of my pregnancy. The only thing that helped me was using an "egg shell" mattress cover in addition to the pillow between my legs.
