yeast infection normal?

This is my second time being pregnant, however the first time i didn't carry it to term, so I'm not positive or normal feelings and abnormal. Right now I am 10 days late on my period, I took a test 3 days ago and it said negative, however as of about three or four days ago I started noticing similar symptoms from last time.

So.. my question is... is it normal to feel like you have a minor yeast infection in the begining? It doesn't feel really bad, just one spot that is really itchy. If I'm remembering correctly that happened last time also, sound farmiliar to anyone?

Re: yeast infection normal?

I am no sure if a yeast infection is a sign or prengnacy or not. I found out i was pregnant in Feb.2006 I had a yeast infection 1 week before I tested positive. It had been 4 years since I had a yeast infection. Since you are late I would make an appointment with your doctor and have blood work done. I ended up having a miscarriage with that pregnacy. I don't think the yeast infection had anything to do with it but you never know.

Yeah I haven't had a yeast infection in probably 4 or 5 years too. I don't think it is even anything serious, just dry and itchy from whatever is going on in my belly.

When I went in for my pap after finding out I was pg I also had a yeast infection. I don't think I'd ever had one before. I've never misscarried though, so I don't think the two are related. I think it's mainly caused by the increase in hormones. And the fact that you and your partner had unprotected sex can do it. Ah, and men naturally carry large amounts of yeast in their mouths.

Re: yeast infection normal?

I ended up with a yeast infection with my first pg (about a week before AF was due). I ended up losing that one early on, but I've stopped wondering if I did something wrong. Sometimes the embryo just isn't viable.

This time I also experienced. I was on a lot of fertility drugs, too. I just kept eating lots of yogurt and took a supplement called acidopholus. I think early on it's best to avoid otc treatments, but a doc might tell you different.
