Re: Overweight Women Had a Cesarean?
Hi,
I'm new to the forum too, just joined today! Yikes, c-sections scare me! I had an emergency c-section with my first and you will need all the support you can get, it is very difficult to do everyday tasks like walking up stairs or taking a shower. If you have one try not to take on too much and try to keep your spirits up as it will get easier. To be perfectly honest I found it very tramatizing myself, I was completely out of it in the hospital, I was hallucinating and having nightmares, not sleeping etc. and I couldnt cope for 3-4 months at home. I develped post-tramatic stress disorder. That was just me...I know of ladies who never had any problems with the c-secion and were up and about in no time (lucky ladies!) ...on a better note my cousin was very heavy and recently had a planned c-section and had no problems at all with the scar healing, however she did need help to keep the incision area clean, her tummy was about 50 pounds dead weight and she needed her mom to lift her tummy up and hold it for her clean it well. She said she was slightly tramatized after as well because of the surgery, she told me it was how dependent on others you are that surprized her. Whatever happens good luck to you on your new arrival, pregnancy really is a special time, enjoy it! I have a 5 month old baby boy and a 5 yr old boy. Kind regards
