Light brown discharge/spotting, is this normal?

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and about once or twice a day, I get a little bit of light brown discharge/spotting. I called the doctor last week and he said it was normal but it's still going on. Is everything okay?

Yes, it sounds as though it is probably normal. I had a similar experience. Once at around 7 weeks. I had a bit of pink that turned to brown right away and then stopped. That one didn't worry me at all. Then at 10/11 weeks or so I had a small amount of actual blood, which turned to pink/brown discharge for the next several days. The initial "blood" on the second time freaked me right out, so I seen the doctor for it. We heard the heartbeat, but they sent me for an ultrasound just to be safe. And a week later I seen my beautiful little one moving around etc!! So it was fine in my case, I'm 17 weeks now.

Yes, I had quite a bit of bright red bleeding with my firstborn when i was around 8 weeks, and thought for sure it was a miscarriage, but it ended up just being implantation bleeding. I had a normal rest of my pregnancy and he was born perfectly healthy.

HOWEVER do you know what your blood type is? If you are Rh negative (i'm B neg) you'll need to let your doc know right away and get a Rhogam shot. They do this because, if your blood and the baby's should mix and the baby is not Rh negative, your blood antibodies could try to fight off the baby. If you know that you're negative I'd call the doc, even if it's after hours. If you're not sure, call when you can.

I though implantation bleeding was at the first couple of weeks....At 7 weeks, isn't supposed to be implanted by then? And, it's been going on for 2 weeks. It's brown spotting, a couple of dribble a day.
