Very sensitive teeth!!!

Hi ladies,

I am having the worst problem with my teeth. They are sensitive to anything cold or hot. The only thing that doesnt bother my teeth are neutral temp foods like chips and stuff. Everything else even if its just slightly cold hurts so bad. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem and if so does anything help it. Its getting to the point where i barely wanna eat.

Re: Very sensitive teeth!!!

I had this too. My dentist told me it was normal. I still felt it post-partum. I am 13 weeks PP now and they are still sensitive at times. My dentist told me that I may need to stop using Tartar control toothpaste also. He said it can cause sensitivity in some people and I may have been able to tolerate it before being pregnant but not afterwards.

Re: Very sensitive teeth!!!

I also have this problem on top of my wisdom teeth choosing to grow in now as well. For the sensitivity the thing that works for me is orajels desensitizer. It is rubbed directly on the teeth and desensitizes them to hot and cold stuff. If you start having pain at all an ice pack to the cheek will help. The blood vessels in your gums become very small when you are pregnant which lessons the healing process, makes your teeth sensitive and in my case can also cause problems like chipping. Also Sensidine is a great toothpaste to use when your teeth are sensitive. I hope this made sense. I am 38 weeks along and really nothing I say comes out right at this point. Good luck!
