    BDP and Lysine,Inosite + Vit B 12

I'm looking for a bit of advice from China. It's not easy here trying to get what I feel is good advice!

We've had an ultrasound scan at 20 weeks(that is 20 weeks since my wife's last period).

The doctor thinks that the BDP which is the biparietal diameter is short at 4.4 cm . My wife told the doctor that she had her last period on 27 January 2009. That would mean she is about 20 weeks pregnant(we went on the 17th June)

The doctor then prescribed a load of drugs to help which I suspect was either a con or I question the intellect/patience/education of the doctor.

The drug is - Lysine,Inosite(maybe should read inositol) and Vitamin B12 Oral solution I stopped my wife taking (she took 25ml twice)after I researched the net and found differing opinions on the usage of this.

Basically from my research I see that 44mm at 20 weeks is not unusual and I see no reason to take this drug especially as it is a category C drug that has differing opinions on its dangers.

Of course I am not a doctor and to go against what they say I would want another opinion.
I'm not sure whether the concentrations might affect its administration.

I attach the link here that has the drug we have

You'll see it is used for anorexia and retarded growth.

    Any advice is really appreciated!

Drugs are never good during pregnancy, and I dont really understand what a Biparietal Diameter (can you explain?) is but can it really be fixed with medicine? I have never really heard of a baby having a problem and then given medicine to fix it. Usually babies either cure themselves or nature takes it course. I used to live in japan so I know that some things they do over there is sort of weird (I wasnt given vitamins or blood tests or ANYTHING, only ultrasounds everytime I went)....I would try to find an american doctor OR just get an opinion from another doctor. But one thing I can say is that medicine (especially more than one) during pregnancy is NEVER a good idea....

I think it's always important to trust your instincts. If available try to switch obs right away. Also, ultrasounds are notoriously not very accurate, especially with measurements.
As Marie84 mentioned, babies often cure themselves. Good luck!
