This is really strange

I'm new and read some posts. Its nice to be able to post and have someone listen to "I think I'm pregnant" I got married late in life...late bloomer...only a year ago. Suffered a miscarriage this past June, it was devastating..."why me??" I'm 42 and want to get pregnant. I have recently lost 30 lbs and feel good about that, but the hard part is maintaining. The weak part of me reached for thermogenics to help keep the appetite down and I feel ashamed to say that, I'm prenatal and should have put those things on the shelf. Problem is we had intercourse when I was ovulating 2 nights ago and today for the first time in years my sciatica is acting up...strange? Anyway, I threw away the thermogenics! However if I do become pregnant I hope I haven't caused damage. I feel like an idiot, I'm sure woman have done worse chemicals, before they found out, its just that I wasn't thinking. I'll do the usual...wait until the end of the month to find out, oh the patience is tough! Thanks for listening and best of luck to everyone else who's trying

Re: This is really strange

Hi there and welcome to the boards! Try not to worry about the meds so much, I'm sure it will be ok, if you ovulated and then didn't take any more, it is OK. You can get some relief from sciatica pain by trying pressure point therapy. Get 2 tennis balls and put them in a sock. Lie down over the balls and make sure they're right on your painful spot. You can do this without lying down too, just use a wall and rub against the ball that way. Try looking it up on a search engine if in doubt!

Why don't you join us over 35'ers on the ttc over 35 buddies thread. (if you're not sure about the acronyms used here, just go to the blue border at the top of the main message board and click on "resources")
There are some great women on the over 35 buddies who are in your same shoes and who can give you support! See you there! Nela.

Thank you Nela! Great news, woke up and sciatica was gone. And thank you for the info on the tennis balls. Turns out I have 2 taped together (by a physical therapist) and it does wonders for back pain! Never thought of it. I will definitely join the over 35ers, and thanx for the great welcome. We have been trying "again" since November, its been a very lonely experience, I'm glad I reached out to this board

Re: This is really strange

Hi Late Bloomer! Glad to see you here. I am pretty much in your shoes; I'm 43 and ttc with my new husband. I have two daughters from a previous marriage (19 and 16). My husband's first wife couldn't have children, so here we are. We aren't very fortunate so far. I also had a miscarriage in July 2002. It was so heartbreaking for me. I've wanted another baby since my early 30's but was already a single mom with two daughters so there was no way. Now that I can, I can't! I have no known medical problems, so I think my problem is more age related. Don't get me wrong, everybody's bodies are different. I think it is just me at this stage of the game. Ah well...I'm still trying, at least until September.

I am glad you have put the Thermogenics away. I would like to drop a few pounds myself, but I think I'll wait until October (assuming I don't get pregnant)!

Nela, thank you for the tennis ball hint. I also have sciatica, but it only seems to act up a couple of times a year for about a week or so each time. I will definitely remember your tip!

BabyDust to you, Late Bloomer!
