    Unhappy Acne and pregnancy?

Hi, I hope someone will be able to help me out. Does any of you suffer from acne since they got pregnant? If so, what face wash do you use? I am been looking on the net to try to find out if the Neutrogena oil-free acne wash would be safe to use during pregnancy (or any other over the counter acne wash for that matter).

I don't see my doctor for another 10 days and I would have liked to know sooner than this. I want to do something about my skin.

    Thanks!

    Hi Sweetmelf,

I use Cetaphil face wash for normal to oily skin. It works really well...however - I don't think it is made to kill acne bacteria.

My OB & derm both ok'd the use of topical erythromycin during pregnancy. I've done a ton of research on the web about it and all of the info. I've read says it's fine to use.

You may also want to do a search ... I know there have been some posts on this topic as well.

    All the best,
    Kris

    Hi,

I would think almost anything over the counter should be safe. I've only heard that you should avoid Retin-A because it hasn't been totally tested for use during pregnancy.
I personally like Cetaphil for oily skin, and Phisoderm.

    Take care.

Thanks girls! I have hear good things about the cetaphil cleanser too, so maybe I will get that.

I searched a little on the net and I know that benzoil peroxide (the active ingerdient in Clean and Clear) is classified as a C by the FDA. I don't know about the sacylic acid that's in the neutrogena oil-free acne wash. I couldn't find the information. So, I think just to be on the safe side I might try the cetaphil cleanser.
