Unhappy Menstrual like lower abdominal pain during first trimestar

I am 4 weeks pregnant and under a doctor. He made a Trans Vaginal Scan and found the embryo in right place. I am experiancing ocassional lower abdominal pain exactly like menstrual pains. Do I need to worry? Is there any chance of urinal infection? What could be the other causes for this?

Hi, Congratulations! I'm 7w and I can tell you that I've had cramps on & off the whole time. Before I took the hpt, I was sure I was about to get my period! I was kind of freaking out & posted some messages, and all the replies said it is normal - as long as you are not spotting red blood & have a back ache. It is usually just your uterus starting to strech & expand getting ready for the baby. I had my 1st dr's appt this past Tuesday and the nurse practitioner I met with said it was normal, and to expect these cramps pretty much the whole rest of the time. Also, I had a little bit of brown discharge, which the nurse saw when she did the internal exam, she said this was also normal and not to worry about it, again, unless it is bright red with really severe cramps & bad back pain. Hope this helps to ease your mind! So I guess you are due in May also? Check out the thread about May Moms, so you can catch up with other women that are due in May!

I had menstrual like cramps until around 13 weeks. My doctor told me to drink lots of water to help combat the cramping. It does help.
