Hi I was wondering if I could get some answers to my questions? I do have fibro so I know Raynauds can occur in it its just usually when it comes to the cold my hands will go extremely red but its my fingernails that will go purpleish even blueish. My fingernails are usually the ones that turn color even my toes and my hands will take quite awhile to go back to normal. I know its not extreme like some people have with their fingers turning white/blue well for having my hands under cold water for about a min they go really really red, can go purpleish/blueish for a bit but my hands will really hurt until they warm up again, kind of like pins and needles. I kind figured ive always had poor circulation as my fingernails can usually have a purpleish hue to it and my feet are usually always cold. I do believe a doctor once said that my capillaries are really small. I do get alot of pain in my hands at times so I was just wondering what did you guys think? I am extremely sensitive to the cold (but I am hypothyroid to).

Re: Raynaud's?

It does sound like Raynaud's but I am just a patient and it's your Dr that can give you a diagnosis. It is a very simple cold tolerance test performed in office. In the meantime, keeping warm and keeping your hands and feet warm are the best ways to avoid the pain of re-warming, such as don't have your hands in cold water. Use waterproof gloves with a liner. Don't touch cold things, use hand warmers, and such.
