    Numbness in Hand?

I've been told I have Raynaud's by two doctors and I know that I've had it all my life - my toes and fingers would turn blue and purple when I swam in cold water when I was little.

Just this last day or two I've noticed that one hand feels kinda numb, and it gets more numb when I lie down, and I can't find a position to relieve it. Is this common or could it be a symptom of something else?

    Re: Numbness in Hand?

I don't have numbness. I experience Raynaud's in my fingers and toes. They get cold, turn white and ache severely after they turn white. They don't turn blue or purple just entirely white with no blood flow. It usually starts at the tips and moves up the fingers toward the palm of my hands. I just saw a neurologist yesterday, he was asking me about numbness - and I do not have any of that. So, based on his questions to me, I would say numbness may be a symptom of something neurological. Best wishes to you on getting the medical support from your doctors.

Thanks Jane645 - I will be seeing a specialist someday - I live in Canada and I have been referred to a specialist but it can take months (even years) to see someone who is an expert.
