Nerve Block didn't work.... Aargh!!!

Hi jenna,
well after my nerve block for my foot, it turned really warm but not tingly and I had no shooting pain anymore and i only had 1 block done so far, but before my block it felt like shooting pain on the bottom of my foot and needles going into the top of my big toe, but since my block I have had none of that!! not sure why you had to change in temp or color or pain! I have been fine up until last wednesday but it's the swelling not the pain that is hurting me, it swells up so big that it feels like it's going to burst open, that in my case is what hurts. maybe your next block you will see more results, i do know it takes more then one and with this one being your first there not sure how it's gong to react! hopefully they will start working for you.

Unfortunately this was my first block even though I was diagnosed with RSD 11years ago. Way back then I was told by Drs here in Australia that nothing could be done and that I had to learn to live with it!

All my Specialists over the past 12months have said that if the block didn't work first time then no block was ever likely to, given the amount of time I've had the condition & because it is now end stage & extremely aggressive.

They basically told me that the block was only being done to satisfy Medical Protocol before they proceed with a below-the-knee amputation, which will now most likely take place next year.
