Uncontrollable leg movement

my husband has uncontrollable leg crossing , he has been diagnosed with dementia since 2009 , but the leg crossing just begun 3 months ago . What could this be .?

Hi, just came across your post and I hope you have been answered elsewhere but, as a nurse, I can just say that uncontrolled involuntary leg-crossing occurs quite regularly with those who have developed spasticity (usually after traumatic brain injury and hemiparesis). It is a matter of concern and I hope your doctors are aware of it and investigating (the spasticity just relates to the continuous contraction of a muscle group). There may be other causes such as Parkinsons but that is the main one as far as I am aware.

Since you say your husband was diagnosed with dementia, and this is atypical as far as I am aware. The only question I wonder is was the diagnosis for Lewy Body Dementia because LBD can develop symptoms reminiscent of Parkinsons just such as this.
