Cool Looking for diet/vitamins to help with RSD

I was diagnosed 4 years ago with RSD in left lower leg following surgery; have been able to get it under control with Neurontin and physical therapy. However, just had trauma to leg and the RSD is starting to rage up. /can anyone suggest special diet or vitamins or home treatments to help? Thx

Re: Looking for diet/vitamins to help with RSD

Hi there -- I was recommended by pain management to take Vitamin C (lots, 3-5 grams per day), alpha lipoic acid, acetyl-l carnitine, and fish oil (algae oil for me, as I am vegetarian). I recommend trying one new supplement every few days: Acetyl-l carnitine and alpha lipoic acid can cause headaches, so I had to stop both, wait a couple of days, then restart to figure out the acetyl-l carnitine caused the problem. I would check with your physician, especially with the high doses of Vitamin C.
