I'm Paul, I have the unfortunate honor of having this terrible disease. I have had it for nearly 2 years as a result from a Compartment Syndrome surgery. I am on the usual meds, and have had a number of blocks done. Of course some help some don't. Yesterday I drove 200 miles to my doctor and I was having a really bad day. My medical goes to crap 2014 as many will. With a time crunch and no time to schedule a Stellate Block. We decided to do an in house Ketamine injection in my neck.
Well this was the first of this kind I have had plus I wasn't sedated just numbed. Or at least I thought!! With my nurse holding me down on one side and my doc on the other. He began to try to get the needle where he needed it. He kept telling me to hang in there and apologizing for the pain. He then gave me a bit more numbing medicine and continued.

This is when I felt excruciating pain in me throat. I'm in tears now and I said hey this doesn't feel right. Well he finally got it done, with one more apology. So after I left with my father driving, we got a couple blocks away and I tried to speak and I started choking. I grabbed a Kleenex and coughed up nothing but blood! So I called the doctors office to ask if this was normal to which the doc said UHM NO come back!! So I now have a punctured esophagus. I cant hardly swallow and I'm in a lot of pain. Thank goodness my hand and arm did get some relief, briefly. But now my throat is jacked.

All that being said has anyone had the pleasure of having a punctured esophagus? And if so how did you turn out?
