So many boards divided in to so many categories

I used to spend a lot of time on the health boards but have found since so many boards have been added, that I am never sure where to go now, and when I do find a board, there are hardly any members in that one, and many people are not getting replies now.
There used to be hundreds of members on the back boards and most always got numerous replies.
The way the boards are broken up in to numerous categories makes a person realize they need to be a doctor themselves to know which one to post a question in, then find out they are in the wrong one.
The categories are too numerous, back problems, arthritis, stenosis, scoliosis, osteoporosisc, DDD, back pain, back surgery etc.
I have almost all of these wrong with my back, and can find no help here any more, because when I find a board, there is very rarely anybody even on it.
Why did you add so many subcategories?

Re: So many boards divided in to so many categories

Those are good questions.
Members ask for the board topics that are added. To get replies someone with some experience with the subject has to have read the post. Sometimes the more general subject boards get the most views.

When this site first went online there were very few health subject websites. Now there are so many sites it can be overwhelming. This site is by far not an exhaustive health resource. The boards are for patient to patient support.

If you have general back issues, use the general subject Back Board. There is no need to split posts up about every symptoms that you may have. The board topics are for those who want to use them. No one needs to be a doctor to use the boards. In fact, health professionals are not invited.

If your issues do not fit on a board or you fear no one will see your post, feel free to use the General Health or the Open to All Other Subjects boards. It still doesn't insure that you will get a reply. Doing so is up to the individual readers, who may or may not relate.

Please don't ask members to provide answers that are best provided by a health professional.

Kind regards
