Hi Jenna ~ Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Las Vegas actually is not a bad place to get married if you want a small ceremony. My ex-bf's sister got married there in March and it was a beautiful ceremony. She chose the Bellagio Hotel, which is actually one of the pricier hotels in LV. The wedding chapels, especially the one she chose at Bellagio, are very elegant and look nothing like what you would expect for Las Vegas. There are enough pews to seat maybe thirty guests. There's also great backdrops for pictures at the Bellagio. There was one picture she took with her husband in front of a bursting fountain. It was beautiful! She had her reception at the Stratosphere, which was also cool. The Stratosphere, if you are not familiar with it, is this skyscraper that is pointed on top of a dome. It kinda resembles the Space Needle in Seattle. If you do decide to go to Vegas to get married, make sure you pick a time when it's not scorchingly hot there. When we were there in March, the weather was perfect. But as you get closer to June and beyond, the weather gets very very hot. Good luck with your wedding plans!

Hi Jenna-

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals!

I don't usually come to this board, but tonight I did out of boredom., and just had to say to you, go for it!

I got married in Vegas 31 years ago, 8/12/72. The memories of my simple little wedding will never be forgotton. I was only 17 and he was 22.

He drove me up and down the strip and told me to just pick a place. It was so hard to choose, as there was 100's of chapels!! Finally after driving up and down the strip about 10 times, I chose "Wee Kirk 'O The Heather". I thought it was the prettiest one of all. And it was. (And it's still there).

A methodist minister married us, I still remember his name, Rev. Warren Chester.
These chapels take care of everything for you. If you need bouquets, corsages, videos, photographs, whatever, they will have it. You can have it fancy or simple, depending on how much you want to spend. The chapel was large enough for about 40 guests.

We went to City Hall beforehand to get our license. It was all so fun. Had dinner afterwards and then went to the casinos. (my late brother and his GF, who later became his wife went with us).

Hope it will be a wonderful memory for you both, as it was for us.
We now have a son who turns 30 this Mon. and a daughter who's 25. Still waiting for a grandbaby.
Hope also you'll have as many wonderful years as us as well!
We hope to go back one anniversary and renew our vows!
Cheers...
Deda

Try The Chapel of Love. It's big and beautiful with lots of velvet pews and reception rooms. And as the poster said, you choose your own "wedding package" acc. to what you want to spend. Seventeen
yrs ago we did it and had an Assembly of God minister.
But I'm glad in 1964 I had a church wedding to remember, too. Best of Luck to you both !!!
