Is there something wrong with me???

I need your thoughts. My husband and I have had many problems over our 19 yrs together. He has lied to me so much over different things, we lived right next door to his father, who was an alcoholic and was very verbally abusive. My husband never stood up for me or the kids when his dad would go off on us, which left me feeling alone. My husband has also been pretty controlling over the years. Here is my question. Over the last two months it seems as though I've lost feelings for my husband and I'm thinking of separating to try and get my thoughts straight. Has anyone experienced this where it's like overnight you've lost your feelings for your significant other?? At first I wondered if there isn't something wrong with me......wondering if something has snapped??? I am starting counselling to try and figure this out also. Thank you.

I Dont Think There Is Anything Wrong With You I Think As Women We Are Forgiving And Continute To Forgive Over And Over Agian And We Love So Much And Let So Many Things Go To The Point That One Day We Just Dont Have It In Us Anymore That Person Has Hurt Us So Much And Even Though We Would Like In Our Minds To Work It Out In Our Hearts We Dont Have It Anymore

Oh I agree. You probably didn't just lose your feelings overnight. It's more likely that you have put up with so much that over time your feelings have numbed. I was in a relationship with a very insecure & cruel man. I was forced to pay for all of the mistakes that his ex-wife had made. I put up with it for 3 years and then one day... enough was enough!!! Once I reached that point there was NO going back. The love was dead......and my emotion for him closed off forever. You do what you have to do....Your husband should have always taken up for you. There is NO excuse for him letting his father get away with ill treatment of you. Take your time.....You deserve to be happy!!!

Best of Luck to you!!!! And if you need to talk, I will always listen.
