Scoliosis

The question I have is this. What is the generally accepted treatment for scoliosis. Can I not go for surgery. Are there any medicines to treat or alleviate my condition.

Thank you for reading.

Re: Scoliosis

Is yours extreme? Has surgery been offered? Nothing changes the curvature, but exercise in general can help strengthen if there is weakness.

Thank you for replying. No surgery was not offered. Only when movement up and down the stairs tend to exacerbate the discomfort of pain. Am taking a supplement but doesn't seem to do much. Do not take any painkillers. A podiatrist offered some solutions on footwear that is all. It looks like a chronic condition without options to address the symptoms.

They generally don't do surgery for this on adults. Have you tried PT? That might help as it could level your hips. I'd also investigate various exercise regimens. A trainer may be able to offer some suggestions if your doctor can't.

Thanks your reply. Yes PT was suggested by one of the doctors. I am also on that regimen now. PT is conducted thrice a week at the hospital.
