When I think back, I believe there was a lot of darkness on the film around the l4/l5 area, but I am not 100% positive if that was the difference.

When I brought my mri films to the neurosurgeon, he did go over them with me and showed me where the herniation was. It was easy to see the difference between l4/l5 and the other discs.
