I have been on Fosmax, Actonel and now Boniva for several years. These are PREVENTIVE drugs. They don't help once the fractures in spine etc have occurred, only to prevent further damage. So starting...

Osteoporosis at such an early age is often cause by either excess parathyroid hormone causing calcium to move from bones to blood, or an absorption problem in the GI tract where you are not absorbing...
