Anybody relapsed more than once?

Hi, I started cutting when I was 16, then quit for almost a year then managed to stop for 2 years before things got really stressful with work and my relationship and I started cutting again at 19. I had to stop when my boyfriend found out but I was cutting for months, I have cut scars on both thighs and my wrist. I recently started again after things got even more complicated with my boyfriend and I just wanted to know if this happens to other people, the stopping and starting. I'm not cutting daily like I was last time, just when I get really emotional.

relapsing is very common, more so than anyone ever thinks. self-harming is like an addiction and like self medication, and when things get tough and you don't know what to do it's almost too easy to turn back to cutting.
I hope you're doing okay and that you keep trying to stop cutting.

relapse is just a part of recovery...just keep going forward..
When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others.

I agree, from personal experience. Things will get better and yes you will get relapses but think happy thoughts and then You would be free from it
