Low sex drives?

Backstory:
Dated a woman for two years. We are now married. Been married for nearly six months.

I am her first. We are also both religious, and so, she was a virgin. (I was not.) We waited until we were married to begin having sex, although we did do oral during our two years before marriage.

I think we both have a low sex drive. I don't *need* sex that often. Once a week or so is perfectly fine for me. I don't cheat, I've never been a "hookup" guy. I'm in great shape, turn 30 this year, and never had any sexual issues. (I workout four times a week and pretty muscular.)

She told me last night she never really gets the urge to have sex. Never really feels like she "wants" it. Which sounds a lot like me.

Let me be clear: She said when we do have sex, she really enjoys it. She does orgasm most of the time. I enjoy the act also. We take the time to feel what we like. She just doesn't get the urge *for* sex beforehand.

Is this unusual? Since we're both not feeling unsatisfied with the amount and the act of sex, I'm not really that worried about it. She mentioned last night she was a little worried that we weren't doing it enough. I told her I'd definitely initiate it more! I'm just curious why the urge for her doesn't really ever happen, even when she does enjoy it when we get at it.

Re: Low sex drives?

For your age it is unusual to be only interested in sex once a week, most mens libido peaks between age 18 to 35 so you should still be in your "prime" for a good few years yet. And even after 35 most men should still have a good satisfying sex drive until late 40's, testosterone only drops slowly after 35 (about 1.5% per year after 35) so it's not a quick dramatic drop. Most viagra pills are given to men over 50 so that tells us that is the age when most men begin to have problems. Although most men won't admit to it.

A lot of lack of interest is mental and physical. Diet is very important as well. You could have a lower than normal testosterone level too. It can happen in young men. What is your diet like? believe it or not fats are the number one factor for increasing testosterone levels. I'm not saying go and eat McDonalds every day as their fats are mostly trans fats. Which are no good. To stop the confusion the best fats for increasing testosterone are saturated fats (whole full fat milk, proper butter & red meat) and also monounsaturated fats (olives & olive oil, avocado & avocado oil, nuts like Almonds, Hazelnuts, Cashew, Peanuts)
Some spices increase testosterone too like Ginger. I find powdered ginger most conveniant. Which you can add to coffee or tea. The taste needs getting used to though but it's great in Winter with it's spicy hotness.

Also do you go outside a lot in the Spring & Summer? and I don't mean just getting out the car for couple of mins and walking across the parking lot to the store. Vitamin D3 from the sun increases testosterone. Lots of reading about it online and also all the above I have mentioned. Mens testosterone levels are dropping across the western world and a lot of this could be because of a lack of sunlight with our increasing indoor lifestyles over the past 20 years and also the lies about fats in the diet.
