I hope I am posting in the right forum for this, and I greatly appreciate any help I can recieve. Please direct me to the correct section if I am wrong.

I'm an 18 year old male. A few weeks ago I shaved my pubic region for the first time in a long time, and did a thorough job. That night, I felt pain in my right testicle, but it went away after an hour or two. I looked up my symptoms and found that it might be testicular torsion, but I decided that it wasn't because it wasn't hanging higher, and there was no naseua associated with it. Ever since that night, I get a similar pain in my right testicle that lasts for about 1-2 hours every once in a while (maybe once a week). Is this testicular torsion? What else could it be? Did I do damage while I was shaving? Thanks for any help.

Re: Torsion?

You don't get pain in the testes from shaving. If the pain persists, I would talk to a doctor.

Re: Torsion?

I think if it was torsion you would have lost a testical my now! I think shaving could cause some pain on the skin that might come and go for a while, not to mention itching later. If there is no swelling or continuous pain, it is probably due to the shaving or maybe from some mild trauma, especially if your continually handling yourself down there to look at things. But, if it continues, it would not be unwise to see a doctor about it.

Re: Torsion?

Thanks for the responses so far. I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow. I'm hoping your right, Magnetic... but what would it feel like if I 'lost' a testical?

Also, I was just reminded that I have mononucleosis (had first symptoms around December 25th, 2005). Could this cause glandular problems in the region? I have had pain in the 'seams' between my legs and torso where glands are located before, but not really in the testicular region.
