So now the subdermal pain has gone away along with the rash starting to clear. Instead, now it's an itch worse than any poison ivy along with stabs like someone stabbing with a hot fireplace poker.

    What is working for me....

After trial and error, I apply aspercream lidocaine, wait 15 minutes, then apply a very light amount of capsaicin cream.

The lidocaine keeps the hot stuff from becoming unbearable.
I tried the capsaicin by itself, and it only made the remnants of my rash irritated. Pain on top of pain that burns. The Aspercream numbs enough that the capsaisin can work on desensitizing the nerves without feeling like my skin is burning off.

I have just finished my 5th month, my rash was finally starting to clear up and now the blisters are starting to return. I've been through the itching and the pain of 10,000 bees stinging me at once. Thank goodness for Gabapentin. Now I'm terrified the pain will come back as the rash continues to resurface Why of why didn't I get the shingle shot when my husband did, SMH.

    Hi HarleyNana.

If the rash is coming back, get to your doctor and take the antiviral med again. When I did that the second time it stopped it from getting worse.
