    Right Shoulder Pain

I have right shoulder pain pretty constant. Always worse in the AM when I wake up. Some mornings it is even hard for me to open a cabinet to get a coffee cup out. The odd thing is, some mornings it is not as bad as others. I have a job where I use my right hand constantly at a computer so I am wondering if this did not contribute to it. I had an X-ray and it came back saying nothing found. I am now getting an MRI this upcoming week. Has anyone else had an x-ray with no findings, then have an MRI and had findings. I have also had days where my shoulder just lightly hurt, and others badly, so not sure why. Appreciate anyone's feedback. Thank you.

    Re: Right Shoulder Pain

An x ray will only show bone whereas the MRI will show soft tissue such as rotator cuff, etc. so,yes, it will be a better tool to see what's going on.

    Re: Right Shoulder Pain

I have left shoulder pain and its severe. I thought it was related to my MS- but after talking to my Neuro, he ordered Xrays which showed nothing... he sent me to an orthopedic doctor- who ordered an MRi and it showed herniated discs...

I now go to PT for shoulder pain- and the exercises do help. Ive learned better ways to sleep and support my shoulder- and I wake up with less pain.

To answer your question, yes, it might show allot more than an Xray.

    Good luck!
