Course of action
My shoulder story began about 12 years ago when I dislocated my left shoulder. It popped back in and no medical aid was sought. Over the next 10 years it dislocated roughly 5 times, all in quite benign situations. Again, no further medical advice was sought other than physio to try and patch up the problem.
I eventually decided enough was enough after 10 years long story short ended up having stabilisation surgery, and then about a year later a decompression.
Ever since I’ve on and off struggled with pretty intense pain in the front delt region, and almost ‘underneath’ my rotator cuff.
I still like to work out (powerlifter) but I have removed the majority of pressing movements from my workouts. I tend to struggle most when my hand is in pronation (I feel as if my whole arm from the socket to wrist has to twist). I do frequent band pull aparts and external rotations.
I’ve shied away from returning to a physio because all I feel will happen is that I will he told not to work out any more.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
