Can anyone identify what’s wrong with my shoulder?

About 13 years ago I dislocated my left shoulder for the first time. Over the next 9 years it dislocated about every 2 years, but I was always able to get it back ‘in’. The fourth time it did this I took the decision to get it fixed and had shoulder stabilisation surgery and labrum repair.

I spent the next 3-4 months in a sling, barely moving from an internally rotated position, and about 6 months in physio.

Things never really felt right and I ended up needing a decompression.

That was about 2 years ago and things still aren’t quite right, despite the consultants saying it is fine in my shoulder.

What I tend to struggle with now is internally rotating my arm, ie turning my thumb in. I like to workout and for example I cannot bench press as this involves putting my arm and shoulder into an uncomfortable position.

The main pain I generally feel is in my lat, higher up towards my armpit.

Over the 3 years I’ve tried endless myofascial release and stretching but I just never seem to make any progress.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.
