    mysterious shoulder/arm pain

for about a month now i have had a burning pain on the left side just above my armpit that is sometimes dull and achy. it extends down my left arm and into the hands. my wrist and fingers (particularly thumb) get really painful sometimes. very weak feeling at times too. there's also a cold burning sensation with pain under my left shoulder blade. drives me crazy!

    any similar stories out there?

You need to get to a shoulder specialist, ideally an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in shoulders. This sounds like some kind of nerve impingement or compression, and letting it go too long can cause nerve damage.

thanks for the reply CT. that's what i initially thought and brought up with my doctor, but she didn't seem too keen on exploring that option so i let it go.

I'd get another opinion. It's disappointing when doctors dismiss our potentially serious problems.
