Hi - I'm wondering if your doctor has ever said that the
feeling in your thighs could return - even if it's a
burning and tingling
feeling? I, too, have a
feeling similar to yours - mosting a
burning feeling - which extends from my thighs to my lower legs. It mostly happens at night when I'm in bed. I use the gel ice packs, which relieve it. If your back pain is being relieved by taking the drugs you mentioned, why are you considering surgery?? Have you gotten several opinions? I have also had epidural steroid shots, and so far I have been able to put off surgery. The neurosurgeon I saw recommended that I try to avoid surgery as long as possible because there is no guarantee that my problem can be alleviated and it could possibly get worse. I have some stenosis and degenerative disc disease wth some herniation at L5 and have had 2 steroid shots - the last was almost two years ago. Good luck!
