    Sinus Lift advice?

    Hi!
In preparation of dental implants, it looks like I am going to need a sinus life on one side of my mouth...any advice, suggestions, feelings, etc from people that know about it or have gotten it done.

    Thanks

I don't know anything about it, but I think I'm going to have to get the same thing done when I get an implant (I recall my dentist saying something about that). How much is it going to cost to have that done?? I've gone over all my estimates and it's looking like my implant (when I can afford to do it) is going to cost me over $5000 (and that doesn't include a sinus lift). Do you by any chance know if a partial denture is included in the price of an implant???

    Hi!
I will let you know, I will be meeting with my dentist to go over the overall plan...I am currently wearing a partial and was told that I'll only have to go without it for a few days until the swelling goes down and then there won't be a problem with the partial fitting...so ill let you know about the cost, etc., soon. Please do the same.

Also, what type of bone were they going to be putting into your mouth? Cadaver? Cow?

    thanks.

Hi--what exactly is a sinus lift??? is that surgery? do they have to go into the sinus??? Why is it necessary? I have been told that my roots are very close to sinus..in fact it was punctures when I had rc surgery!--What's the procedure?

    Hi!
Well a sinus lift is surgery...from what I was told, it takes about an hour. They go into your sinus and basically is needed to grow bone where your implants are going to be placed. I need 3 implants on one side so we are putting bone there so the implants can be placed. From what I've read, they can use many different type of bone from your own bone, cadaver, or cow, or even synthetic bone. I believe my dentist told me he uses cow bone...i'm quite nervous about the whole thing, but I'm 23 years old, and feel like I have to do everything I can to preserve my smile.
