    Extremely low wbc count

I just found out that my white blood cell count is at 1.3 and I'm meeting with my doctor tomorrow. He said he wants to repeat the labs to see where it's at now and I guess go from there. From what I've seen and heard, leukemia can be one cause of low wbc. I always thought that leukemia caused really high wbc?

Is this something that anyone here had prior to being diagnosed?

    Re: Extremely low wbc count

Please, does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm kind of going crazy with worry even though logically I know there probably isn't anything to worry about. I just want to hear other's experiences with WBC count and if it's been high or low. And what can they do for you if your count is way too low?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have acute mylogenous leukemia.I was diagnosed in 2006.I had low wbc at the time of diagnoses 2.0 I went into remission april 2007.I got sick again and my wbc counts have now fallen down to 1.7 I have gotten the leukemia back and now have to go through chemo again and then a bonemarrow transplant. So for me my counts are low when I have leukemia.

My husband also had a very low WBC at diagnosis. I think it's ALL where the counts are high.
