Recovery after the cone??

Hello Ladies,
I, finally, was contacted by surgery scheduling. They want to schedule me for a Wednesday. So my question to you all is how long should I take off work for the cold cone biopsy? I'm not sure how long it'll take, but I'm thinking at the longest I'll be good to go back to work on Monday....... Any opinions??? I don't really know what to expect, but I may be getting this done as early as this coming Wed, which would be an enormous relief....but also immediately scary!

I had my cone on a Friday, at like 8:30 am. I was home by noon. I slept a lot of that day. I got up about 7pm, putted around the apartment, posted online for a little while, then went back to bed. Sunday, hubby and I went shopping (he pushed the cart). I was at work on Monday.

After my doctor did my cone (and ECC, and D&C, and uterine biopsy) she finished up with doing (basically) a LEEP to cauterize the edges that were cut from the cold knife cone. She also put in a stitch or two to close off the arteries. This GREATLY reduced my post-cone bleeding. I bled for 2 days and oozed (clear brown stuff) for about 2 weeks. I think she did a GREAT job.


You could always try working half-day on Friday. But if you have the time, go in on Monday.
