    Burning Sensation in Legs

Hello, i am 46 woman. Normally very active, healthy and energetic. Over the last 2 years my life has been extremely stressful. In the last year and 1/2 I have been experiencing burning sensation in the lower part of my legs. Recently I can feel it in my lower hips and left forearms. When I first get out of bed in the morning it is very unconfortable to stand walk. I do have a pain in my middle back but have not connected the two. I figure that I might have mild Fibromyalgia?

    Thanks for you input

A problem in your lower back or cervical spine area can cause the symptoms you are describing. You need to see someone who might prescribe an MRI to see what is going on. Nerve compression or even spinal cord compression can cause the symptoms you have. I know, I have been through them, and had to have a cervical fusion to stabilize my spine. I also have lumbar stenosis, and that causes leg problems also. My family doctor referred me to the proper specialists, which included a neurologist and neurosurgeon. Don't wait too long to get this checked out. Make sure they check your entire spine. All the best.

Hi,early 09 I began to have burning in the lower part of both legs, this advanced to hips and running through to lower legs especially bad pain in sides of both knees,as I was diagnosed with spondololothesis 23 years ago,but refused surgery then,I still did not connect this leg pain with that, however, after mri's and nerve root injection, final diagnosis is low grade bi-lateral,L5/S1 spondololothesis, with pending surgery, being L5/S1transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion,I am quite disabled now,and I am on the semi-urgent waiting list,I am very nervous about having this surgery, but I have been told this is crunch time,I am determined to remain positive of a good outcome.thanks,Bronwyn.
