does anyone get 20/20 after lasik?

I had Intralase LASIK via Allegretto Wave laser performed on 1/5/10. On my follow-up the next day, I was 20/20 left and 20/25 right. I had a one week follow up and am now 20/15 left and 20/20 right.

However, I will say that although I am "technically 20/20" in my right eye, the quality of the image is not as clear as I had hoped. I am very pleased with the quality of the image in my left eye, but that is to be expected as there was less correction to be made in the left vs. the right.

For what it's worth, I am also hyperopic, which makes the surgery a bit more complicated than for myopes.

I read that 50% of those aren't or are no longer 20/20 after lasik for distance. Those who end slightly undercorrected should be happy they can see good(possibly 20/20) from near without reading glasses. Some(like me) don't even see 20/20 with glasses/contacts so it wouldn't be realistic to expect 20/20 with lasik. Also I read and speak from experience that they are very liberal in "declaring" you 20/20 to boost their bottom line. I guessed 2 letters correct with my glasses when getting a lasik evaluation and he declared me "almost 20/20"

I have 20/20 - for about an hour after I wake up. Then vision degrades steadily all fay untill I can see maybe 5 feet. It's been 6 weeks since surgery and yeah, I'm scared as hell.

Mine did the same thing. Mornings (for about an hour or so) were good, then my vision got blurry. It has to do with tear film. Your doc will probably tell you that. With LASIK, the corneal nerves get severed when the flap is cut. The nerves help somehow with tear production. It should improve but may take many, many months.

Hi - I was -12.00 on each eye until 1-15-2010 - the day of my lasik surgery! It continues to be challenging and, at times, a frustrating recovery process but yes I am at 20/10 on my left eye (amazing really) and 20/30 on the right with expectations that that eye will come around as well; my results are not typical for someone with my severe myopia; i struggle with tired eyes, dryness, fluorescent lights are awful and living in Florida with the sunshine is a drawback; it's a long recovery - be patient go easy on yourself;

Yeah I have 20/10 in both eyes, possibly better but I didn't check at my last checkup. I chose the best treatment of wavefront with intralase.

im 20/20, both eyes, day and night.......i just have really really awful starbursts at night. every single light has these long streaks coming from them.

I had lasik 7 years ago, almost to the day... 20/40 the day after, within a few weeks I was 20/15 and am still seeing better than 20/15. I had a bad experience the actually day of the procedure, but would do it again in an instant. It was the best thing I've ever done!
