envirogirl: The redness in my zit has gone down by a lot, i simply left it alone. I wanted to ask you a couple of things about the egg white: Does it help with the redness and is it as good as the yolk (besides the new zits)? Also does the white help with the red marks (if you have any that is)? thnx

I would think it would be perfectly fine to use the BP along with the egg yolk.

I too and having some great success with the egg mask. If you are worried about long term benefits of it, it will affect your acne problems in the future. So, I suggest one night you go to bed with Egg Yolk mask and another night with a mask of Soap and Sugar into a clayish like substance

It's been about a week and a half now that I've been using the egg yolk mask, and it's helped so much.

I'm gettin fewer breakouts, my red marks are continuing to improve, and my face is a lot less oily.

I find it works better if I use it as soon as I crack the egg open. I also don't whisk it with anything, which might also help. I usually leave it on for an hour or so...

VIK: just to clarify, i have oily skin. the egg white feels better on my skin then the yolk. i don't think i used the egg on my face long enough to see any changes in red marks from cystic scars. but if u'r talking about blemishes, the dark healing skin after small pimples, yes i think it helps remove the discolouration

This is in response to whom wrote the question above.

Yes you can use the egg white and the yolk together. Actually i recommend this. Combinding the two tightens the pore and will drastically change the size of the pimple prone into a smaller and will go away in a few days

Do I have to wash my face before applying the mask? I have very sensitive skin and prefer only washing once a day, anymore leaves my skin tight and irritated. Does anyone else just bust open the egg and put it right on there face without washing first?

You really should wash your face before applying the mask. Just use a really gentle liquid cleanser. You don't have to wash your face with anything but water in the mornings.

Re: any sucess with the 'EGG YOLK MASK'??

Hey all you egg yolk users! I read all of your messages and I am very curious about this egg thing. I think I am going to try it tonight, but I have some questions. I use Pro-activ(the cleanser, toner, and repairing lotion) and I was wondering if this egg yolk thing is okay to use after I've washed my face with the cleanser, put on the toner, and rubbed on the lotion and let it dry? I've been using pro-activ for about a month and my pimples and such have shrunk, and my face is less red, but my face still isn't clear. You all seem to be getting good results with this, so I think I'll try it. And I'm really confused about this "oily skin uses the white, and the dry skin should use the yolk" is that true? I have oily skin, so should I use the white or what??? I'd appreciate a reply. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif"> Thanks!

Hey, Orlando's Girl. If I recall from when I used to use Proactiv, they have a mask. What I would do if I were you, is to do the egg mask in the same step as you'd do the Proactiv mask (I'm not saying do both masks, just to replace the Proactiv one with the egg one). i.e. If they say to wash, then do the mask THEN do the toner and lotion...do it in that order. I personally have started the Sage products and I wash with the Shampoo, then do the mask, then do all the other things (you figure you wash off the mask so if you had the toner and lotion, etc. on that would get washed off and therefore be ineffective)

Ok, After reading about all you brave people trying out this egg yolk mask deal , I told my BF about it and he came home last night with a "special just for me" carton of eggs.So., here I am with my face caked in an inch thick of egg yolk. Its starting to feel just a little tingly and also a little itchy.Has anyone else experienced that before? I just looked at my gooey face and am wondering how much fun I'm going to have getting this stuff off.
