lactic acid peel for red marks!

I had moderate acne which seemed pretty severe to me at times on my face and now that I got it under control my main problem is red marks left over. i seen people talking about acid peels and I decided that the 50% lactic acid peel was the one that sounded best for me so I ordered it and recieved it yesterday. Does anyone else use this because I am really anxious about the results i'm going to see

When i used it lastnight it seemed to have exfoliated very well (obviously im not going to see results after only one peel) but what i did notice was a dramatic difference in my pores around my nose. When i rinsed the peel i had some very small white heads all over that area and I was able to easily just slough them right off and now my pores just seem extra clear and smaller.

I put the peel on for 2 minutes (even though it says to leave it on for only 1 minute the first time) but by the time i applied it to my entire face 2 minutes had already gone by so 1 minute seemed difficult. I have sensitive skin and i didn't have any irritation at all besides some slight stinging. It says to increase it by a minute each peel you do so next time i will do 3 minutes and so on till i reach the maximum time limit of 5 and a half minutes. I was thinking about doing 2 peels a week so i can speed up the process but I don't know if that would be too harsh because I think it says to do it once every 10 days.

Anyways, if anyone else uses this peel or has been using it for a few weeks i'm wondering what kind of results you are having or anything else that would be helpful. thanks.

    Hi brian_20,
Yes I use the lactic acid. It seems like the first week I only used the peel once. The second week I did a peel twice. Like, I did one on Sunday and again on Thursday. Lactic is so non-irritating. It will fade your acne marks, but you can't expect it to happen over night.

Each time you do a lactic peel your red marks are getting lighter, it is hard to see it. Then after two weeks you will be able to see the difference.
I like lactic acid because it makes your skin feel so soft and smooth and have a nice glow to it. It is soooo gentle too.

    britty witty 3,

Lactic acid is so mild and non-irritating. I don't see why it would be bad for dry skin. It says that it is also great for mature skin, so dry skin should be fine. It will brighten your skin and give it a healthy glow.

I did another lactic acid peel lastnight and it seems to be working excellent. I am really starting to see some results, I left it on for about 3 minutes this time and then I apply copper peptide serum to my entire face aftwards because it's supposed to support colligen growth or whatever. Like others have said , it definitely does wonders for red marks.

hey Tif, when u say that, is that a natural glow or the peel kinda forces it to 'look' like that? you know what i mean?

Isn't lactic acid produced when you exercise? Isn't that what makes you feel the burn and end up feeling sore the next day?

    Hey JayTee]-

It's like it loosens and removes the surface debris and old dead skin off your skin. You won't see any noticeable peeling or redness. That is the beauty of the Lactic Acid Peels. Your skin will look fresher, cleaner, and have a nice glow.

Don't expect all of this to happen after one peel. Usually when you buy a bottle (2oz) it should be enough to do 10-12 peels. You'll see a difference after a couple of peels. Lactic Acid is so gentle I was able to do a peel twice a week.
quote:
It does wonders for red marks.

Search for "lactic acid peel". The 50% lactic acid peel kit costs $74.95

    Hi a2help,

I haven't seen it that high in percentage. 40%-50% is the highest I've ran across. With the higher percentage the less you will be able to do a peel.

Like I used the 40% Lactic and was able to do a peel 2 times a week. Someone else on this board bought the 50% Lactic and their directions said once every 10 days. So I figure you will get the same results in the long run.

Re: lactic acid peel for red marks!

Thanks for responding Tifanie. I got the lactic acid 40% and it doesn't seem to be doing much. I am also using the CP serum. Matter of fact the directions say to leave it on for 5 minutes. That's why I was shocked when someone else said they are only supposed to leave it on for 1 minute. I dont know if the website I got it from was fraud or what. Does your lactic acid smell like vinegar? Also, if you are using the CP serum does your smell like peppermint?
