So I'm five weeks post LASIK and everything is fine, except for this crazy itch I've been getting. It's mostly in my left eye, but my right eye gets itchy too. I think it started about 2 or 3 weeks ago, and it went away for a week or so but it's been driving me crazy since yesterday. The itch started off at the inner corner of my eyes, but now it feels like the entire outline of my
eyelids is itchy. There's no redness (unless I
rub my eyes) and no pus or anything, so I doubt it's an infection. The only thing that's scaring me is that it just won't go away, and that I get stringy mucus (especially on my left eye) every morning for a few hours after I wake up.
The only eye drops I'm using now are the lubricating ones (Refresh) and I thought that it could be an allergic reaction but I'm doubtful about that too because the itch comes and goes. I took an antihistamine and it seemed to help with the itch, but I just want to get to the root of the problem and get rid of the itch once and for all.
I've been taking some pain medication these past few days (mostly muscle relaxants) and they dry my whole body, could this be a reasons for the itch as well?
Please help, it's driving me crazy.
